Imagens da cidade de Salvador: arquitetura e turismo

Abstract

The present research seeks to demonstrate the contribution of architecture in the valuation of the image of a city, in the case: Salvador. And as from this architectural valuation can promote tourism development and consequently the social, with the generation of jobs and urban rehabilitation. Due to the scope of the theme, it was necessary to resort to an extensive theoretical framework and diverse methodologies to reach the objectives. An analysis of the images of Salvador was made verifying that architectures contributed to the formation of this image; questionnaires were applied to residents of the city of Salvador in order to identify the current image of the city of Salvador; the contributions of the architecture to the tourist of the city of Salvador were analyzed in a comparative of what happens in the world. The research demonstrated that the image of the Salvador that attracts the tourist is that of a modern city that maintains its traditions, therefore the architecture soteropolitana to contribute with the tourism must value the history and the Bahian culture.
